I Need to Try Firefox

I was looking over the traffic profile for the last week on this site and was surprised at the share of traffic that Firefox had.

  1. Firefox – 55.4%
  2. Mozilla Compatible Agent – 10.99%
  3. IE (what I have been using) – 8.7%
  4. Safari – 7.18%
  5. Opera – 3.18%
  6. Mozilla – 3.16%
  7. Everything else was bots and various rss readers

I had tried Firefox a few years ago and I didn’t really see any benefit but it clearly has the dominant market share of people who went to the effort of at least visiting my blog so it must be worth looking at again.  Within the Firefox category:  3.0 had about 30% share, 1.5.x had ~1%, and 2.0.0.x had the rest of the share.

Tabbed browsing is a must for me, so I used Opera until IE 7 came out. It was just as useful to me as Opera or FireFox would have been. But FireFox 3.0 is a whole different story. The new URL bar alone makes it worth it to me. You should definitely give it a try.

You definitely should give FireFox 3.0 a try… besides the URL bar, especially the protection from “attack web sites” and webforgeries is going to be essential (especially to non-IT people).

And the AT LAST very intelligent solution to remember passwords. But I prefer Opera, its faster. And IE7 totally sucks! Its slower than hell.

I used ie6 for years, but when I met firefox & opera with multiple tabs, its like heaven…

    Regards.
